The competition calendar is extensive and meets all needs with regular competitions at weekends and during the week. The weekend competitions are entered by starting sheet and usually have in excess of 130 members taking part but a good proportion of midweek competitions are on a “turn up and play” basis.
The club boasts many successes not least in team competitions. For the elite golfers our scratch team play in the Midlands Division 1 and are the current holders of The Warwickshire Cup. For the 4-15 handicappers there is the West Midlands League Team where pairs comprise of a “low man off less than 10 but more than 4” and “high man of more than 10 but less than 15” played in zones. Maxstoke Park regularly make it through to the knockout stages and in 2016 won the leagues cup competition the Davenport Salver for the first time.
We have “A” and “B” teams who cater for the competitive/social golfer. Both teams have strong fixture lists against other local Midlands clubs. In addition to team and competition golf Maxstoke Park has several weekly social golf groups that we call ‘Fiddles’. Members both encourage and welcome others to join in and, if you are stuck for a game and looking to meet other members, playing in one of the Fiddles is an excellent place to start.
We have a very active Seniors Section known as the ‘Maxies’. The Maxies is open to anyone aged 56 and over and they hold many competitive and social games throughout the year.
As a forward thinking golf club we are very proud to be an equal status club. Recognising how important the working lady golfer is to the club we hold several of the ladies major trophy competitions during weekends and not just during the week.
Playing with reserved ladies times on the first tee, regular competitions and social golf form the backbone of the section and there is always a team to play in. The lower handicappers will be attracted by our scratch team whilst the mid to high handicappers will be welcome in our friendly teams.
Not all golf is serious! There are several away days, invitation days and open competitions where everyone can join in and enjoy the game plus lots of opportunity just to have a relaxed social round followed by a treat from the bar!
Mixed golf plays an important part in the overall sociability of the golf offering at Maxstoke Park. The club run a successful calendar of mixed matches as well as hosting several mixed opens throughout the year. Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner we’ll find you one!

We have an active Junior coaching scheme in place at weekends to encourage both girls and boys into the game and have plans to develop our programme further over the next few years.
The Junior Team has won the Sutton Coldfield league for the past 3 years and we have players who have played at national level for the England under 18 team.
