From The Pro
Late September saw Titleist release their much awaited 718 irons and 818 hybrids. Added to the returning, and massively popular AP1 and AP2 is the new AP3. The AP3 merges the looks of the AP2 with the performance of the AP1 to produce the “player’s distance iron”. A hollow-blade construction combined with L-Face inserts launches long and high with shot-stopping spin – even on longer shots.
With the 718 series, Titleist have also made the T-MB available throughout the set, having previously only been available in the longer irons. A hollow-body, multi-material construction utilises high-density tungsten and a thin unsupported face to create faster ball speeds, while still offering a Tour-validated look and feel. An incredibly advanced combination. The 718 also brings the traditional CB and MB lines back, a firm favourite with the better player.
The 818 hybrids feature both the H1 and H2 models. The H1 provides high launch, easy distance, and tremendous forgiveness. For golfers with a sweeping delivery to the ball and prefer the look of a fairway metal. The H2 offers player preferred launch, precise distance, and iron-like control. For golfers with a steeper delivery to the ball and prefer the look of an iron. The 818 feature the SureFit® Hosel providing 16 independent loft and lie settings to optimise consistent centre-face contact, complemented by the shot-shaping accuracy of SureFit® CG. Trackman fitting appointment for are available for the new 718 irons, 818 hybrids or both with Head Professional Neil.
